Symmetry Wins the Day

Welcome back to another Dissection Of A Design! Can you guess what today's dissection will be about? You got it, symmetry. I am a lover of both symmetry and asymmetry in design. They both add positive elements in the design of a room. Today we are going to focus on symmetry and what it adds to a space.

Isn't this space wonderful! I love that the starkness of the walls help in the creation of a warm inviting space. The wall hanging takes the stage as the only piece of artwork on the wall all while helping to define the space. There are so many things working in this design that I decided to dissect it. Here we go...

I'd like to expand a little on the above.

A- I adore they way they aligned these shapes! Not only are you able to take in the space all at once due to the symmetry but your eye is drawn up and down as well. This works really well to highlight parts of the space
